Here we go...
Awkward. How do you start these things? With an introduction I suppose.
I'm Catherine! My husband Nate and I are beginning the adoption process after many years* of attempting to conceive. Seriously, after all of those years of my life trying to NOT get pregnant (somewhat humorous I suppose) the struggle with infertility has been challenging, to say the least. We consider ourselves late bloomers, so I guess this just aligned nicely. Though we have always been open to adoption, the research, expenses, process and uncertainty of it has felt daunting for us, and therefore really easy to put off. We love kids, we want kids and we know that there are lots of kids out there that need rad parents and a loving, safe and stable home.
This is meant to document our experience, to keep our family and friends in-the-know, and to perhaps encourage someone else that might feel a little overwhelmed when exploring all of the different adoption possibilities. We recently registered for some intro classes at a few different adoption agencies, updates on that to come.
*over eight years...how is that possible?
